The best thing about necklaces for women is that different lengths are worn for different occasions and seasons. So you can almost always use a particular necklace for some occasion. If a cowl neck or turtleneck shirt (typically worn in the winter season) is chosen, a long necklace works better. A choker length of 16" doesn't work with a high neck blouse or with a larger neck size, while an 18" necklace will hang farther down on a petite woman.
For those of you who are like me and have a hard time figuring out necklace lengths from descriptions, here's a little chart to help visualize what that 18" necklace is really going to look like.
Most of our Necklaces are strung to approximately 17-18 inches and our children's necklaces are strung to 14" with a 1-1/2" extender chain. Contact us if you require custom sizing.
Necklace (Toddler) 12"
Necklace (Child) 14"
Necklace Adult Small 16"
Necklace Adult Large 18"
Below is
a standard size chart that may be used as a general reference tool
if you are not able to get an actual wrist measurement or if
your are purchasing the bracelet as a gift. The majority of
infants and children fall within these ranges, but again your child's
size may slightly vary. Again, we highly recommend obtaining
your own wrist measurement to insure the proper fit.
